CHICHÉN ITZÁ VIP TOUR
Chichen itza which means in the mayan language “Mouth of the well of the Itzaes”, is located on the eastern part of the state of Yucatan.
This important ceremonial center mixes greatness and nature, its gold period was from 1000 to 1250 of our time.
The castle of Kukulkan is an amazing construction that is 30 meters high and where the exact cosmic knowledge of the mayans is tested. It is here where every year during the equinox, you can see the “descend of Kukulkand the feathered snake”.
One of the most outstanding attractions of Chichen itza is the Sacred Cenote that has a circumference of around 62 meters and its almost vertical walls have a height of around 22 meters depth where it is believed the mayans threw young women as offerings to the God of the water carefully dressed and brightly decorated. Chichen itza is the archaeological site by excellence to visit because of its extraordinary architectural beauty and its cultural importance.
Valladolid is a “Pueblo Mágico” located about two hours inland from both Cancún and Mérida airports. The small city of just under 50,000 inhabitants was created by the Spaniards in 1545, built atop a Mayan town called Zaci-Val or “White Eagle.” Today, this vibrant city has an interesting mix of Spanish-style architecture, such as colonial-era mansions and cathedrals, combined with a local culture that is distinctively Mayan.
Valladolid is a popular stopover on the way to neighboring ruins like Ek Balam and Chichen Itza.
|Cenote ( Underground River ) |
The word cenote is derived from the mayan term “D’ zonot” , representing an underground cavity filled permanently with water.
Cenotes are the jewels of the region. These otherworldly swimming holes, which are linked by an underground river system, are unique to the Yucatán and Quintana Roo. There are more than 2,600 of these spectacular sparkling sink holes littered between the two regions, and every single one is different.
These sinkholes formed over thousands of years, with the action of acidic rain filtering down the porous limestone rock and gradually dissolving it away. Slowly, this process created huge water-filled caves – in some cases, the cave roof collapsed under its own weight, exposing the water pool beneath to the elements. Cenotes are actually all connected with one another, forming the longest underground river in the world.
